Roorkee: In a significant recognition of his exemplary contribution to pediatric healthcare, eminent pediatrician Dr. Sudhir Chaudhary was conferred with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award during the Devbhoomi Pediatrics Conference (Pedicon-26) held in Dehradun. The award was presented by Dr. Meenu Singh, Director of AIIMS, in the presence of distinguished members of the medical fraternity.

Dr. Chaudhary completed his MD in Pediatrics from Meerut Medical College in 1982 and holds the distinction of being the first pediatrician from Uttarakhand to be awarded the Fellowship of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP) in 2013. Over the years, he has served as a five-time member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics Board from Uttarakhand, contributing significantly to policy, advocacy, and advancement in pediatric care.

His professional journey also includes international experience, having served as the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Mother and Child Hospital, Aljbeil, Libya, from 1985 to 1991. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Chaudhary has been actively associated with Rotary Club Roorkee, where he has held key leadership roles, including President and Assistant Governor, spearheading multiple community-centric health initiatives focused on child welfare.

Dr. Chaudhary has represented India at 11 Rotary International Conventions across the globe and was part of a Rotary Medical Mission to Mozambique two years ago, further underscoring his commitment to global health outreach.

Currently, he leads Chiranjeev Child Hospital, located on Dehradun Road in Roorkee, where he continues to deliver dedicated and quality healthcare services to children from the region. Widely regarded as a trusted and respected name in pediatric care, his contributions span over several decades.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Chaudhary emphasized the growing prevalence of emerging health challenges among children. He advocated for a preventive healthcare approach and urged parents to minimize children’s exposure to junk food and excessive screen time, highlighting their impact on both physical and mental development.
