The Uttarakhand government has started preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra 2026, focusing on improved road connectivity, healthcare support systems, and crowd management. Senior officials recently held a review meeting with district administrations of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Pauri.
This year, the government aims to introduce an upgraded digital registration system to prevent overcrowding. Additional shelters, mobile medical units, and emergency helipads are also planned along the yatra route.
Officials emphasized that strict adherence to environmental norms will be enforced to ensure sustainable tourism. The Char Dham Yatra attracts millions of pilgrims annually and is a significant contributor to the state's economy.
